New Meadowbrook Facility "Best of All"

Standing in the middle of the new beef handling facility at Eastern Kentucky University’s Meadowbrook Farm, Mark Deesing said he has seen “about a dozen” university-based beef cattle handling facilities designed by his renowned colleague, Temple Grandin.

EKU's new state-of-the-art beef handling facility designed by Temple Grandin and her colleague, Mark Deesing, will be officially dedicated this week. The ceremony is set for Friday, April 21, at 1 p.m. at Meadowbrook Farm, followed by an open house and guided tours.

The ag department at Eastern Kentucky University is hosting an April 21 ribbon cutting and demonstration of its new cattle handling facility at its Meadowbrook Farm. 

Agriculture Students Participate in Alltech Competition

EKU Agriculture students competed in the Alltech Innovation Competition last Saturday in Lexington, Ky. Team members were sophomore Mackenzie Mahon (Agriculture); juniors Kelly Armour (Agriculture Education) and Maria Lanham (Pre-Veterinary Medicine); and seniors Abigail Black (Horticulture), and Curtis Spencer (Agriculture). Faculty advisors for the team were Dr. Mike McDermott and Ms.

AG Names Tobin as 2017 Distinguished Alum

EKU's Department of Agriculture is pleased to announce that Mr. Michael Robin has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2017.

Mr. Tobin will be honored during a presentation toward the end of the spring 2017 semester  at the Department of Agriculture College to Careers senior seminar.
