AG selects David Williams as 2005 distinguished alum
EKU's Department of Agriculture is pleased to announce that Dr. David W. Williams has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2005.
Dr. Williams was honored during a presentation on Friday, April 1, 2005, at the annual College of Business and Technology Professional Skills Conference senior recognition luncheon.
The honor is reserved for special alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professions through excellence, dedication, and service.

Dr. Williams graduated from EKU in 1981 and went on to complete his Masters and Doctoral studies in Crop Science at the University of Kentucky and is now Associate Professor of Agronomy at UK.
He has received numerous awards and recognitions throughout his academic and professional career. Dr. Williams has received the Master Teacher Award from Gamma Sigma Delta Honor Society of Agriculture, the Young Faculty Award from the Southern Region Association of Agricultural Scientists, and Faculty Futures Award from the University of Kentucky Department of Agronomy.
His profession has also recognized him through the Kentucky Turfgrass Council Turfgrass Man of the Year Award and Watson Fellowship for Outstanding Graduate Students from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. Dr. Williams is joined today by his wife, Janelle Williams.
The college also honored distinguished seniors for the year as selected by their respective departments within the College of Business and Technology. In addition, recipients of scholarships and awards for the 2004-05 academic year were recognized. Students were honored for outstanding achievement and more than 40 area employers were on hand to engage in networking activities with college graduating seniors.
