AG selects Joli Jarboe as 2006 distinguished alum
EKU's Department of Agriculture is pleased to announce that Dr. Joli M. Jarboe has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2006.
Dr. Jarboe was honored during a presentation on Friday, April 7, 2006, at the annual College of Business and Technology Professional Skills Conference senior recognition luncheon.
The honor is reserved for special alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professions through excellence, dedication, and service.
Dr. Joli M. Jarboe (1989, BA Animal Science; DVM, Auburn University), Department of Agriculture
Dr. Jarboe graduated from EKU in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Animal Science. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in 1993, completed neurology residency at the University College of Veterinary Medicine of Missouri-Columbia in 1999, and received neurology diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2002.
She received a Certificate of Recognition from the University of Missouri for services to the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery and the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital from 1996 to 2001 and was also awarded the Young Achievers Award from Auburn in 2003.
Dr. Jarboe is currently veterinary neurologist/neurosurgeon at the Veterinary Neurological Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is joined today by Mike and Janet Jarboe, Brent and Lori Jarboe, Beth Hardesty, Dawna Snipes, and Fred and Susan Brammell.
The college also honored distinguished seniors for the year as selected by their respective departments within the College of Business and Technology. In addition, recipients of scholarships and awards for the 2005-06 academic year were recognized. Students were honored for outstanding achievement and more than 40 area employers were on hand to engage in networking activities with college graduating seniors.
