EKU's Department of Agriculture is pleased to announce that Ms. Lorrie West has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2012.

Ms. West was honored during a presentation on Friday, March 30, 2012, at the annual College of Business and Technology College to Careers senior recognition luncheon.

The honor is reserved for special alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professions through excellence, dedication, and service.

Ms. West earned her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a Minor in Business from EKU in 2001.

She is an accomplished human resources professional with solid expertise in strategic talent management and human resources practices.  In her current position as Regional Human Resource Manager for Cobb-Vantress, Inc., in Monticello, she is responsible for planning, facilitating and coordinating training activities of hourly and salaried team members.  Cobb-Vantress is a global poultry research and development company engaged in the production, improvement, and sale of broiler breeding stock.

While her company may be global, local community service is key to their mission.  She is very active in local service organizations promoting Cobb-Vantress through volunteerism and is always looking for ways to highlight the stories and activities of colleagues.  Ms. West is a member of several local and National organizations, including service as Vice President of the Pulaski County Industrial Consortium.
