AG Students Attend International Poultry Expo

l-r: Megan Baker, Hannah Richardson, Candice Carson, and Brittany Dargavell

Five EKU Agribusiness Management students from the Department of Agriculture attended the International Poultry Expo Atlanta, Ga., in January.

Seniors Megan Baker (Richmond), Candice Carson (Versailles), Brittany Dargavell (Waco), Hannah Richardson (London), and junior Zachary Williams (Berea) all interviewed with some of the nation’s top food companies and returned with a job and/or internship.

The 2015 IPPE featured more than 7,245 international visitors from over 103 countries. The annual expo gives students the opportunity to learn about the technology, equipment, supplies, and services used in the processing of eggs, meat, and poultry. They also learned about the techniques used by those involved in feed manufacturing.

International Poultry Expo, International Feed Expo and International Meat Expo integrated their trade shows in 2013, under the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE). The 2016 IPPE is expected to bring together more than 1,250 exhibitors and over 30,000 attendees in Atlanta from January 26-28, 2016.
