Holstein Association, USA Recognizes EKU's Meadowbrook Farm Holstein Herd

In January, the Holstein Association, USA completed the process of rankings for the top Breed Age Average (BAA%) herds for 2020.  EKU's Department of Agriculture received notification their Holstein Herd qualified for one or more of the lists based on the recent BAA of 106.7. 

For the purpose of these lists, if a herd classified twice in a year (between 1/1/2020 and 12/31/2020) and received an official herd BAA for both classifications, only the most recent BAA was used.  To appear on these lists, a herd must have at least 10 cows included in the BAA calculation.

In 2020, 947 herds had a BAA value eligible for inclusion in these lists.  The average number of cows included in the BAA calculation for the entire group was 68, and the average BAA% was 107.2.  If you are interested in viewing the 2020 High Ranking BAA Lists on the Holstein Association USA Website, please visit www.holsteinusa.com under the Popular Lists section on the homepage, as well as in the next issue of The Pulse, which can be accessed by clicking here.  EKU is recognized on pages 9 and 11.  Again, congratulations to EKU's Department of Agriculture!
