Kyle Nowlin Named To Two All-America Teams

Senior outfielder Kyle Nowlin was selected as a third team Preseason All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), the organization recently announced.
Thirty-four different schools and 16 conferences were represented on the NCBWA Preseason All-America teams. Nowlin was one of two Ohio Valley Conference players to make any of the NCBWA's preseason teams.
Also, Nowlin, a turfgrass major and native of Harrison, Ohio was a fourth team Preseason All-American selection by College Sports Madness.
In 2015, Nowlin led the nation in home runs per game, was a first team All-Ohio Valley Conference honoree and was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 30th round of the Major League Baseball Draft.
He averaged 0.38 round trippers per game. Nowlin tied for second in the nation with 19 home runs while batting .326 with a .690 slugging percentage, 45 RBIs, 49 runs scored and 18 stolen bases.
Nowlin had the sixth best slugging percentage in NCAA Division I baseball. He led the OVC in home runs, slugging and tied for fourth in stolen bases.
As a junior, Nowlin tied EKU's record for home runs in a game by hitting three dingers on two occasions, against Morehead State (March 28) and Jacksonville State (May 3).
Eastern is scheduled to open its 2016 season on Feb. 19 at Lipscomb University in Nashville.
