The Department of Agriculture is pleased to announce scholarship and awards recipients for the 2012-13 academic year. 

These outstanding students were acknowledged for their exceptional achievement at the College of Business and Technology annual College to Careers Recognition Luncheon on April 5.

Agriculture Department Hosts KY River Region High School FFA Speech Contest

On Thursday, March 21st, the Agriculture Department hosted the Kentucky River Region High School FFA  Speech Contest.  A talent contest and parliamentary procedure competition was also held. Winners in each contest advance to the state competition held during the State FFA Convention in June.

Owens awarded Garden Club Scholarship

Richmond Garden Club President Kitty Sandy awards Ian Owens the clubs second EKU

RICHMOND — The Richmond Garden Club has presented its second horticulture scholarship to Ian Owens.

A native of Somerset and a graduate of Somerset Community College, Owens is a greenhouse management and business major at Eastern Kentucky University.

It began in 1912 in what is now Stateland Subdivision, moved to the site now occupied by Alumni Coliseum, then across the Eastern By-Pass and finally to Meadowbrook Farm near Waco.
