Eastern Kentucky University's Department of Agriculture programs will be well represented again this year at the 2016 National FFA Career Show and Collegiate Expo. Scheduled for October 19-22, the event will be held in Indianapolis, Ind. And EKU's AG Ambassadors will be there!

The 2016 Fall Field Day at EKU's Meadowbrook Farm will be on Thursday, September 29th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

EKU's Red Barn Garden is now offering campus deliveries!

With their new "From Farm to Office" program, campus grown fruits and vegetables can be delivered directly to offices on EKU's Richmond campus.

Meet the New EKU Farm Director

Justin McKinney

Justin McKinney has recently accepted the position of Director of Farms at Eastern Kentucky University. McKinney has deep roots in southeastern U.S. agriculture and studied at the University of Florida (UF), a land-grant institution. He holds an undergraduate degree in agribusiness management and a graduate degree in agronomy.

"My daddy said that pigs make bacon, but I asked that pig for some and it just grunted,” Andrew said to his hay-ride neighbor, shrugging. His group had just left the ice-cream station, where they had made their own ice cream using milk from Meadowbrook Farm’s cows.

Adams Selected as 2016 Distinguished Alum

EKU's Department of Agriculture is pleased to announce that Mr. Marcus Adams has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2016.

Mr. Adams was honored during a presentation in April at the Department of Agriculture College to Careers senior seminar.

Shopping local is encouraged around campus, especially when it comes to food. The EKU Department of Agriculture started a program in 2015 that allowed them to provide local produce to Café Burrier, their local farmer’s market, faculty regents meetings and Sonny’s BBQ.
