Agriculture Students Inducted Into DTA Honor Society

EKU's Department of Agriculture is pleased to announce the fall 2014 new initiates into Delta Tau Alpha, an honorary society for agriculture students. The initiation ceremony was held Wednesday, September 24, in the EKU Chapel.

Students are selected based on GPA, character, leadership ability, and class standing.

Eastern’s own Megan Moore (AG Education junior from Williamsburg) recently won first place in the Gaited Mule State Championship in Trail Pleasure Racking Competition for ladies 18 and over.

AG selects Greg Harris as 2014 distinguished alum

Mr. Harris was honored during a presentation on Friday, April 11, 2014, at the Department of Agriculture College to Careers senior seminar.

Fraley named as 2014 AG distinguished senior

Mr. Benjamin Fraley has been named the 2014 Distinguished Senior for EKU's Department of Agriculture. He was honored during a presentation on Friday, April 11, 2014, at the Agriculture College to Careers senior seminar.

The student is selected based on superior academic achievement, excellent leadership, citizenship, character and services to EKU.

Students Apply Real-World Training at North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge®

Fort Wayne, IN, April 5, 2014 – Eastern Kentucky University participated in the 13th Annual North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge® (NAIDC) held April 3-5 in Fort Wayne, Ind. In total, 264 students from 37 colleges across the U.S. and Canada attended this educational event co-hosted by Purdue University, Michigan State University and The Ohio State University.

EKU Student Team to Participate in Alltech Innovation Competition

Three Eastern Kentucky University seniors, with the guidance of faculty mentors, will be participating in the 2nd Alltech Innovation Competition to be held on April 26, 2014. Alltech is seeking a business plan to capitalize on innovation in Kentucky's food and agriculture sectors - with $20,000 in prizes on the line.

Agriculture student to be featured in "Across Kentucky" radio program on Nov. 25

Chelsey Schlosnagle, recipient of the American Star Award from the National Future Farmers of America, will be the Kentucky Farm Bureau Newsroom Room Across Kentucky radio show feature on November 25. According to producer Mike Feldhaus, the pod cast will go live on their website at about 8 a.m. on Monday morning.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013/National FFA Organization) – FFA members from Illinois, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Georgia earned the most prestigious honor awarded to a student by the National FFA Organization Saturday at the 86th National FFA Convention & Expo in Louisville, Ky.
